Crystal Cruises have unveiled details on the extensive enhancements to Crystal Serenity – the greatest the ship has ever undertaken.
The luxury cruise liner will enter dry-dock to commence major refurbishments that is as great, and in some areas even exceed, that of the revamp that Crystal Symphony emerged from in October 2017.
With the objective of enriching onboard experience, the redesign will see the expansion of spaces and the widening of options for the ship’s valued guests. Upgrades will be afforded to accommodations, dining selections, onboard technology, and to public areas.
Penthouses
Onboard the new Crystal Serenity, there will be 36 new Penthouses and two new Penthouse suites on Deck 10, which will replace the Veranda Staterooms. These will boast walk-in closets, spa-inspired bathrooms, and butler service. The space will increase to 538 square feet, compared to 403 square feet of the current rooms. More Penthouses means less guest capacity, which will decrease from 1,070 to just 980 guests however, the ratio of crew to guests will not change.
Dining Selections
The dining options for the new Crystal Serenity offers more flexibility for guests with open seating where guests can dine at leisure and choose their dining companions. The addition of new venues will offer more world cuisine choices.
The Crystal Dining Room will become Waterside and draws influences from the main dining areas on Crystal River Cruises and Crystal Symphony. Tables with seating options for two and four will be added, consequently increasing the dining capacity to 500 guests, but the everyday changing menu of international dishes will continue.
The Lido Café will be replaced by The Marketplace by day and transform into Churrascaria by night, featuring an open-kitchen with made-to-order dishes. Buffet-style breakfasts and lunch will still be available, but dinner meals will take on a Brazilian flavour with ceviche, tapas, traditional Caipirinha, and a Crystal ‘gaucho’ serving up skewered grilled meats tableside.
Tastes will become Silk Kitchen & Bar serve flavours with Asian influences featuring Chinese dishes that include dim sum, seafood, dumplings, Chinois soup, and a noodle bar. The setting here will be an elegant al fresco ambience with new fabrics, lighting, columns, and screens to create a completely new feel.
Shared areas
Favourite onboard meeting space, Palm Court, will be completely transformed with more intimate seating, new finishes, and carpeting. Seating designs will be more varied with table for two, cocktail tables, footstools, sofas, and coffee tables. The stage will change to an ‘in-the-around’ style concept and the bar will be modernized. The Stardust Club will be given a more multipurpose makeover with new finishes, tables, lighting, and a new dance floor.
