Royal Caribbean Ships To Feature Jamie Oliver Restaurant

Royal Caribbean’s new Quantum-class ships will feature Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant concept.

Jamie’s Italian outlets will be rolled out on the Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas liners, marking the first at-sea branches of the restaurant chain.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Royal Caribbean… to debut my very first restaurants at sea onboard the new Quantum-class ships,” said Oliver. “Royal Caribbean shares my approach to food and dining, which is to serve simple, fresh ingredients in a warm, inviting ambience. I couldn’t be more excited to bring my love of Italian cooking to their guests with Jamie’s Italian. It’s going to be brilliant!”

Jamie’s Italian will be one of 18 separate dining concepts aboard the Quantum-class ships. Others include American gastro-pub concept ‘Michael’s Genuine Pub’, the healthy-eating ‘Devinly Decadence at Solarium Bistro’, ‘Silk’, which focuses on Asian cuisine, and ‘Wonderland’, which promises “never-before-seen fare”.

These will operate alongside Royal Caribbean’s existing restaurant concepts including Chops Grille, Izumi Japanese Cuisine and the Chef’s Table.

The Quantum of the Seas will debut in autumn 2014, with the Anthem of the Seas following in spring 2015. Each Quantum-class ship will span 18 decks, weigh 167,800 tonnes and carry up to 4,180 passengers in 2,090 cabins.
